George Hunzinger was a furniture maker during the later half of the 19th century. He emigrated to the United States in 1855 and began manufacturing furniture in New York City. Like his contemporary furniture makers of the Victorian Age, Hunzinger's pieces are very decorative. What is unique about his furniture is the innovative and distinctive designs he patented. US Pat. 88297 - March 30, 1869
This is George Hunzinger's patent for an improved chair. The patent date is March 30, 1869. The patent number is 88297.

I found this chair in my attic. I thought I had sold it at a yard sale 20 years ago, but alas, I did not. I have photos of it. It is not in very good shape (someone sat in it and broke the arm off). Still has orig fabric and stampted "Hunzinger, NY, Pat March 30, 1869." Any ideas on the best thing to do with it? Have it restored & sell or just sell it now? With 5 children, 2 horses, 3 dogs...I am not a antique collector...don't have the room or time.
Sell it on ebay. Even with a broken arm it should fetch some money. If you still have the arm for it, someone will be able to glue it back. Just takes time. Good luck!
