This nice piece is on eBay right now. It is a standard rocker with a patent stamp. I hate the upholstery... could use some leather or something...
George Hunzinger was a furniture maker during the later half of the 19th century. He emigrated to the United States in 1855 and began manufacturing furniture in New York City. Like his contemporary furniture makers of the Victorian Age, Hunzinger's pieces are very decorative. What is unique about his furniture is the innovative and distinctive designs he patented. This site contains information and photo's of Hunzinger's work.

New Features
I added a handful of Blogger's new features. The slideshow is pretty neat, but it picks up pictures of non-hunzinger furniture as well. I may have to go back and re-tag some older posts.

Lollipop Hunzinger Rocker
I'm not a huge fan of the lollipops, but this rocker is pretty nice. Check out the twisted spindles in the front - from personal experience, each of those takes like 5 hours to remove paint from. Another observation - the horizontal reinforcement bar through the back spindles. I don't recall seeing one like this before.
Thx Christa for sending it my way!

Hunzinger Folding Chair v. Idiots, et. al.
Christa sent this folding chair my way. It went on eBay for a meer $110. Why so low? A strap was broken. What an Idiot. He should have spent the 15 minutes to fix the strap and then sell it for $250. Speaking of Idiots, I should have bought it, fixed the strap and mad a $140 on the deal... er minus shipping.... probably would have only made $1. Nevermind.

Insane Awesome Hunzinger
This one was sent to me by John @ RareVictorian. He scours the auction houses every day looking for deals! Thx for sending these two chairs my way!
